Why You'll Love My Coffee Cheesecake Dessert Box

You're going to love this one. My Coffee Cheesecake Dessert Box is egg-free, super easy to make, and full of that rich tiramisu-style flavor that everyone loves. It's creamy, light, and comes together without any fuss - perfect for when you want something that tastes fancy but takes barely any effort.

It's great for any time, really. Whether you're bringing dessert to a dinner, prepping ahead for the weekend, or just making something sweet for yourself, this one never disappoints.

And if you like creamy desserts like this, you've got to try my Tim Tam Cheesecake Dessert Box or the tropical Passion Fruit Mousse Dessert Box. Both are fun, simple, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients In My Coffee Cheesecake Dessert Box

The ingredients in the Coffee Dessert Box recipe are divided into three key components: the filling, for layering, and the topping. Here's a breakdown:

    Filling Ingredients:

Cream Cheese: Provides a rich, creamy base and a slightly tangy flavor, essential for the filling's texture.

Sugar: Adds sweetness to balance the tanginess of the cream cheese.

Vanilla: Offers a sweet, aromatic flavor that complements both the cream cheese and coffee.

Cold Coffee: Infuses the filling with a distinct coffee flavor, enhancing the overall taste profile.

Heavy Cream: Contributes to a lighter, fluffier texture, and adds richness to the filling.

Ingredients for Layering the Dessert Box:

Plain Cookies (Tea Biscuits): Act as the layers in the dessert, absorbing the coffee and providing a contrasting texture to the creamy filling.

Coffee (Cooled): Used to soak the biscuits, it imparts a coffee flavor into the layers, enhancing the dessert's overall coffee profile.

    Topping Ingredients:

Heavy Cream: When whipped, it forms a light, airy topping that adds a smooth contrast to the layers beneath.

Vanilla: Adds a subtle, sweet fragrance to the whipped cream.

Powdered Sugar: Sweetens the whipped cream and helps stabilize it.

Cocoa Powder: Used for dusting, it adds a hint of chocolate flavor, complementing the coffee and cream components.

How To Make My Coffee Cheesecake Dessert Box

    Mix Cream Cheese Base:

Start by blending cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla together until smooth. It's important to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure everything is well mixed.

    Add Heavy Cream to Mixture:

Mix in heavy cream with the cream cheese and coffee mixture. Keep mixing until the texture thickens, creating a light and fluffy filling.

    Soak Biscuits in Coffee:

Drizzle or brush the biscuits with cooled coffee. This step is crucial for infusing the biscuits with coffee flavor and creating a moist layer.

    Layer the Dessert:

Fill a piping bag with the coffee cream cheese filling and pipe a layer over the biscuits. Alternate layers of coffee-soaked biscuits and cream cheese filling, finishing with a layer of the cream cheese mixture. Smooth out each layer as you go.

    Chill the Dessert:

Refrigerate the dessert for several hours, or preferably overnight. This chilling process allows the layers to set and flavors to meld.

    Prepare the Topping:

Whip together heavy cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. This will be used as a topping for the dessert.

How To Re-Purpose For Your Dessert Box

I have used an empty Ferrero Rocher box for this Coffee Dessert Box is a smart and fun idea. It's great for the environment to reuse things, and your dessert will look super cute in it.

The clear box shows off all the yummy layers giving that tiramisu feel which makes it look even more tempting. These boxes are just the right size for four to six servings.

If you'd rather go with something more traditional, a glass container works great too. It gives a clean and simple look, letting everyone see the delicious layers inside. Glass containers are especially good if you're making a big batch for a party or a family dinner.

Whether you go for the Ferrero Rocher dessert box or a glass container, your dessert is going to be a crowd-pleaser for sure.

My Top Tip For This Tiramisu Inspired Dessert

The key to making this Coffee Dessert Box recipe is getting the balance just right between the moisture of the biscuits and the consistency of your cream cheese filling.

It's all about making sure your biscuits are soaked enough in coffee to be flavorful but not so much that they turn soggy or fall apart. This step is crucial for that perfect texture in each layer, allowing the biscuits to complement the creamy filling nicely.

Also, when you're whipping up the cream cheese filling, aim for a smooth, creamy texture that's thick enough to hold its shape in the layers. Be careful not to over or under-whip it, as this can affect how your layers sit and the overall feel of the dessert.

    Variations And Substitutions

    • Different Biscuits: Swap the plain tea biscuits with ladyfingers, graham crackers, or chocolate cookies for a different flavor and texture.
    • Flavored Cream Cheese: Use flavored cream cheese like hazelnut or caramel for an extra twist.
    • Non-Coffee Alternatives: If you're not a fan of coffee, try using chocolate milk or a fruit juice like raspberry or orange for a unique flavor.
    • Vegan/Dairy-Free Options: Use dairy-free cream cheese and whipped cream alternatives to cater to vegan or lactose-intolerant guests.
    • Add-ins: Mix in chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or fruit layers like sliced strawberries or banana for extra texture and flavor.
    • Alcohol Infusion: For an adult tiramisu style version, add a splash of liqueur like Kahlúa or Amaretto to the coffee for soaking the biscuits.

Common Questions and Answers for the Coffee Dessert Box Recipe

Can I make the Coffee Dessert Box ahead of time?

Absolutely! This dessert actually benefits from being made ahead. Preparing it a day in advance allows the flavors to meld and the layers to set properly. Just keep it refrigerated until you're ready to serve.

What can I use instead of coffee if I don't like coffee flavor?

For a non-coffee version, you can use chocolate milk, almond milk, or even a fruit syrup diluted with water. These alternatives give a different but equally delicious flavor to the dessert.

How long can I store this dessert in the refrigerator?

The Coffee Dessert Box typically stays fresh for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator. Ensure it's covered or in an airtight container to maintain its taste and texture.

Can I add alcohol to this recipe?

Yes, you can. Adding a splash of a coffee-flavored liqueur like Kahlúa or a nutty liqueur like Amaretto to the coffee used for soaking the biscuits can add a nice depth of flavor, similar to a regular tiramisu. Remember to adjust the amount based on your preference and the strength of the alcohol.

    • 1 tablespoon (1 tablespoon) powdered sugar
    • 1 tablespoon (1 tablespoon) cocoa powder

    INSTRUCTIONS

    • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Mix with a hand mixer until smooth, ensuring to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl.
    • Add Coffee: While mixing, gradually add the cooled coffee to the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
    • Incorporate Heavy Cream: Add the heavy cream to the mixture. Continue mixing at medium speed until the texture thickens.
    • Layering the Biscuits: Line the base of your glass container or disposable dessert box with plain tea biscuits, trimming them to fit if necessary. Drizzle these biscuits with the cooled coffee using a squeeze bottle.
    • Create Layers: Fill an 18" piping bag with the coffee cream cheese filling. Pipe a layer over the biscuits. Alternate layers of coffee-soaked tea biscuits and the cream cheese mixture, ending with a cream cheese layer. Level the top using a bench scraper or angled spatula.

    NOTES

Coffee Selection: The coffee's flavor will significantly influence the dessert's taste. Choose a coffee that complements the sweetness of the cream cheese and biscuits.
Cream Cheese Texture: Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing. This makes it easier to blend smoothly, avoiding lumps.
Biscuit Soaking: Be careful not to over-soak the biscuits in coffee. They should be moist but not falling apart.
Chilling Time: The longer the dessert sets in the fridge, the better the flavors meld together. Overnight chilling is ideal.
Serving Size: Consider the size of your dessert box when layering. Smaller boxes may require fewer layers or less filling.

I like your recipes but there are far too many ads on this page. The ads cover content and that becomes frustrating. I'd like to see a 'jump to recipe' option because scrolling to reach the recipe is also frustrating. When searching for a recipe, I'd prefer a direct approach not a long, drawn out story, examples and ads.

Hi, I'm Fay and I've been making desserts for over 45 years. I started baking every weekend for my siblings in junior high and never stopped. I read recipe books like novels, genuinely, for fun. Before retiring to become a stay at home mum, I was a secondary mathematics teacher, which means I take clear instructions very seriously. You won't find vague recipes here.
