Hi, I'm Fay and I've been making desserts for over 45 years.
It started in junior high, baking every weekend for my siblings. While other kids were outside playing, I was in the kitchen, happily covered in flour. That little baker never really grew up.
I'm the kind of person who reads recipe books like novels. I pick them up, read and re-read them, dog-ear the pages, and genuinely love every minute of it. Cookbooks aren't reference material to me, they're a passion.
For as long as my family can remember, I'm the one they call when there's a gathering. "Fay's bringing dessert" and nobody's ever complained.
I started my YouTube channel back in 2015, sharing my sweet treats with anyone who wanted to watch. Over time my viewers kept asking for written recipes, so Cupcake Savvy's Kitchen was born. The blog has always been for them.
Before I retired to become a stay at home mum, I was a secondary mathematics teacher with a Bachelor and Master of Education. Teaching is in my bones, which means I take explaining things clearly very seriously. You won't find vague instructions here.
