INSTRUCTIONS
Stuffed Donuts
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or in a silicone donut pan). Pipe rounds of Nutella onto the parchment paper. Place the baking sheet in the freezer until the Nutella rounds are firm.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a donut pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
In a medium-sized bowl, use a fine mesh strainer to sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
In a separate large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, brown sugar, white sugar and buttermilk until well combined.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix to combine, being careful not to overmix.
Fill a pastry bag with batter and pipe half of the batter into the prepared donut pan.
Take the frozen Nutella rounds from the freezer and place one in the center of each donut cavity.
Pipe the remaining batter over the Nutella rounds, covering them completely.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the donuts comes out clean. The exact baking time may vary, so keep an eye on them.
Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Chocolate Glaze
In a microwave-safe jug, combine the dark chocolate and whipping cream.
Microwave the mixture in 20-second increments, stirring well after each increment, until the chocolate is completely melted and the glaze is smooth.
Pour glaze into a shallow bowl.
Dip the tops of each donut into chocolate glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Place them back on the wire rack to set.
